Spring Snow/Blue Goose Sounds Electronic Hunting CD
In addition to being a fishing guide, I spend a ton of time hunting as well. One of my favorite things to hunt are spring snow geese during the Conservation Order in February and March in my home state of Missouri. As many of you know, the numbers of snow and blue geese in North America have been growing rapidly. To help reduce the light goose population a special Conservation Order was created that allows hunters to use electronic calls to harvest snow and blue geese during the spring migration. The use of electronic callers, along with unplugged guns and no bag limits, has helped to reduce the light goose population and is helping to save the tundra from devastation.
One of my keys to success is the use of a high output electronic caller, and the use of high quality snow goose recordings on CD. I've used this CD to help me harvest a ton of birds every spring, and it will help you kill more birds in the spring as well. There are 3 tracks on the CD and each has a different sound. Some days the birds work better with track1 (feeding flock), and some days track2 or track3 is better (single bird noises with a flock in the background). It's important to try different sounds when you hunt light geese in the spring to see how the birds react and decoy. If the birds won't finish, switch tracks!
Here's a neat trick! Rip the tracks off the CD and copy them to your iPod or MP3 player. My electronic caller allows external input, so I run my e-call from my iPod. This is a lot more convenient for me, and allows me to play "my tunes" in the field when the geese aren't cooperating. Give it a try!
